Vote of thanks to the SOPVID group and Mr. Fred Haga

Approaching Mr.Fred Haga to assess this project was the most contributing factor of our growth. At that time (2021) it consisted of the Assistive Calculator and the Trigonometry Learning aid webpages only.

His excitement about it was genuine, as he expressed how it would be an important aid to fellow visually impaired persons in Mathematics. He showed both interest and determination to make this a success.

He introduced us to the Society of Professionals with Visual Disabilities (SOPVID), a society that brings together professionals who are visually impaired in order to find solutions to technological issues and hold discussions on matters specific to their professions and how best technology can be used to enhance their experiences.

We must say that the SOPVID members made us feel welcomed and excited about our project. They took their time to evaluate it and put forward their suggestions. Through this, we were able to get actual and real-time feedback that we have used to improve this website. One of them, Mr. James Gichuhi included adding a manuals or a guide section on how to use the Assistive Calculator, as it was not intuitive for first-time users. Further discussions pin-pointed major areas of improvement such as cross-browser issues of the calculator's speech synthesizer. They shared a lot of resources with us while explaining how and where we could use them.

We've made tremenous progress since then, thanks to my advisors, Mr. Fred Haga and the SOPVID group.

Asanteni sana SOPVID, mbele iko sawa!!
